Robert A. Narotzky, MD

Neurological Surgery

Dr. Bob Narotzky was born in Marquette, Michigan. He attended Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, graduating from the Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Northwestern University.

Dr. Narotzky completed his surgical internship and residency in Neurological Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Narotzky is board certified in Neurological Surgery.

Departing a successful neurosurgical practice at the Midelfort Clinic, and his position as President of the Wisconsin Neurosurgical Society, Dr. Narotzky founded Central Wyoming Neurosurgery in Casper, Wyoming in 1999.

Dr. Narotzky has been a Principal Investigator on many medical studies including the North American Symposium Carotid Endarterectomy Trial (NASCET), Aspirin Carotid Endarterectomy Study (ACE), COMPASS Frameless Stereotactic Study, BAK Spine Tech Anterior Cervical Spine Fusion Study, and the Prestige Artificial Cervical Disk Study. His professional interests include complex spinal instrumentation and deformity correction, spinal tumor resection, treatment of brain tumors, and treatment of peripheral nerve lesions.

Dr. Narotzky resides in Casper with his wife and family. He enjoys outdoor pursuits, particularly the international hunting of big game wildlife. Recent hunting trips have included excursions for mule deer in Mexico and musk ox in the Arctic Circle.

Thomas A. Kopitnik, Jr., MD, FACS

Neurological Surgery

Dr. Tom Kopitnik was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. His medical degree was obtained from the University of West Virginia in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Dr. Kopitnik’s surgical internship and residency in Neurological Surgery were completed at the University of West Virginia. Dr. Kopitnik is board certified in Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Kopitnik served as a full professor and the director of the Cerebrovascular Surgery section for the department of Neurosurgery at the University of Texas- Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He has surgically treated over 1200 intracranial aneurysms and 300 arterio-venous malformations, and has performed over 100 cranial blood vessel by-pass procedures. Dr. Kopitnik holds patents on many of the specialty surgical instruments and the clips used for treating aneurysms, and is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker at medical conferences around the world. Other surgical interests include the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and peripheral nerve lesions, as well as complex spinal instrumentation. He joined Central Wyoming Neurosurgery in 2004.

Dr. Kopitnik resides in Casper with his wife and three children. He enjoys outdoor activities, including boating, cycling, and target-shooting; he is an excellent marksman with both a pistol and rifle.

Debra Steele, MD

Neurological Surgery

Dr. Debra Steele was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, and was asked to join Phi Beta Kappa. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Steele’s surgical internship and residency in Neurological Surgery were granted from the University of Texas- Southwestern Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in Surgical Neuro-Oncology at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Dr. Steele is board certified in Neurological Surgery. She joined Central Wyoming Neurosurgery in 2005.

Surgical interests include treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors, and complex spinal instrumentation.

Dr. Steele is an outdoors enthusiast and an accomplished rock climber who enjoys keeping fit in the Wyoming mountains. Dr. Steele has traveled extensively around the world including recent trips to Japan and Germany.

Tuenis Zondag, MD, MPH, FACOEM, CIME, Pain Management / Occupational Medicine

Dr. Tuenis Zondag was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. His undergraduate degree was granted from the University of Wisconsin in the form of a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Zondag completed a Family Practice Medicine residency at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. After twenty years of providing family medicine care, he returned to school to earn a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Zondag is a Fellow in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (FACOEM), a Fellow in the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, a former Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians, and formerly a Diplomate with the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Zondag is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner and a Certified Medical Review Officer.

Dr. Zondag is married with two adult children and two grandchildren. He enjoys gourmet cooking, visiting the historical sites and museums of Wyoming, and the upkeep of his lake home.

Todd Hammond, MD

Pain Management

 

Dr. Todd Hammond was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He attended California State University-Fresno, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. His medical degree was granted from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Hammond completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Hammond is board certified in Anesthesiology, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine (ABPM).

Dr. Hammond has received extensive specialized training in pain management and performs a complete array of interventional pain management procedures for Central Wyoming Neurosurgery and other referring physicians.

Dr. Hammond resides in Casper with his wife and three children. He enjoys coaching his children’s baseball and soccer teams, as well as skiing, cycling, and playing golf.
